I have been spammed (sent unsolicited commercial email) by a representative of the company that publishes the textbook. Visit CAUCE (the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email) to see what is wrong with spam, see the spam I received here (sent to other people in my department as well; don't be misled by the personalization, and note the classic feature of spam, the "remove instructions", at the end), and complain to the spammer, Theresa Bisbal, to let her know what you think of spam.
