To get a sense of where you stand in the course after the midterm, note the following:

1. Your final grade is based on the best of two calculations.
   1. I will construct a final grade based on all three essays and IDs
   2. I will construct a final grade based on the best two of three essays (n.b.: three essays are rquired).
   3. Your final grade will be the best one of these two options;
2. Midterm grades:
   1. A = 7-10 points
   2. B = 5-6 points
   3. C =3-4 points
3. If you received a + on the ID, you may add one additions point to your grade, which effectively could bring the grade from a C+ to a B-, or from an A- to an A. The same principle will be used on the final.
