Note: Anika Copp is the primary point person for the projects.

The basic idea with the project is to prepare a manuscript illustrating an aspect of the history of the Roman Republc. This project may be a visual representation of an important battle, a map illustrating the major and minor sanctuaries of the Italy; the layout of a Roman household, and many more. As you prepare the projects, bear in mind that the audience is the university undergraduate (that is, you cannot make too many assumptions about what the audience knows)

The project needs to be developed with two components. The first is the visual representation of the material, the second component presents the most relevant ancient evidence. The evidence may be archaeological (and summarized in map form) or literary (as for example the description of a battle or of the functioning of an instituition. You may use power point to assemble the material, but that is not necessary; the material may be hand-drawn and submitted on paper.

Where relevant, change over time needs to be represented.

The best projects may be professionally developed and made available to students here and elsewhere; that is you have a chance for digital publication.
