Roman Culture to 275 BC: some notes on culture before the Greek influence become dominant.

  1. There is no serious literary culture, at least nothing that survives.
    1. Records survive. Calendars / annalist traditions/ tabularium. what about writing?
    2. Oral tradition in among the patricians / nobiles. The Senate House/ Curia. Togatus and another ; portrait and another.
    3. Fabulae praetextae: drama?? traveling theater? celebrating the important figures and events in early Roman history. perhaps survive in the tales told by Livy.
