For a number of years the Community Service Center has offered short courses in Grant Writing to students at the University of Oregon. In 1999-2000 the CSC experimented with having students, under faculty direction, provide direct assistance in proposal writing for selected Oregon communities and organizations. The experiment was satisfactory. Students and faculty learned that a number of conditions are important in developing a grant application for smaller communities.
