Chris Jones offered, and the committee agreed, to have him manage the EIC ListServe this year. It was also decided to keep the list membership as is for now.
Sustainability Web Page
The site address was sent to members today with a request to proof for grammar/typos and to look at the layout, design and concept. The design is in final draft stage. Major text editing is needed and some links still need to be added. The temporary location is http://www.geocities.com/uosustainability and the permanent site will be at http://www.uosustainability. Comments should be directed to Kay Coots or Linda Johnson.
Bob Jones has found that SSIL (Social Science Instructional Laboratory) and the Wired Humanities Project can be hired for a reasonable hourly rate to help with web site maintenance.
Environmental Studies Service Learning Program
The class was not able to get departmental funding for the U of O project on energy conservation.
Agenda Items for 2001-02
It was determined that the most time sensitive issue is the Transportation Resource Center Bob will invite Rand Stamm from DPS to the November 15th meeting. Ideas, questions and concerns should be sent to Bob at bj@oregon.
Note: Vera Kewene nominated Anne Forrestel to fill an opening on the committee
The next Environmental Issues Committee meeting is from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15 in the EMU Coquille Room.
