Watershed Restoration Stewardship
Taylor

The Taylor site is long and narrow on the bank of Lost Creek. The planting is 30 X 150 feet with two plots in it, each approximately 28 X 7 ft. Some of the species planted at this site include cottonwood, red alder, willows, Oregon ash and snowberry. Because this site is so close to the bank one of the issues threatening the planting is bank erosion. Other issues include browsing and rubbing by deer. Maintenance for the site includes watering and mulching the plants and grubbing out the competition, blackberry and pasture grass.

The Taylor site is located on the bank of Lost Creek.

The creek eroded the bank, eating away at the planting during high water.

The alders, like this one, are doing very well at the Taylor site.
