This report from John McClusky, farmer at Siletz for may 1893, gives us some idea of what farming was like. At Siletz their farming activities included logging, and stock raising as well as normal crop raising. Many related letters from the Indian Agent ask permission to give worn tools and old stock to Indians. In this and other reservation jobs, Indians were paid exactly half of what whites doing the same job were paid.
