This page from Alexander Anderson 981 is an account of beeswax found on the Clatsop shore. Anderson thinks this shows how Japanese Junks were periodically getting lost at sea and wrecked on the rocks of the Oregon coast. He thinks that its is possible that Japanese survivors and their descendants may have lived among the native people. I found this account last year in the collection and Scott Byram consequently found its published version, which is exactly the same as this to the word, on an online archive Canadiana.org. I was initially excited about this because of the paper that Jon Erlandson coauthored
