J. Josh Snodgrass


J. Josh Snodgrass (BA 1995, UC Santa Cruz; MA 1998, Florida; PhD 2004, Northwestern) joined UO as an assistant professor in 2005.  Josh Snodgrass is a biological anthropologist who specializes in human evolutionary biology.  His research focuses on human adaptation to environmental stressors, the influence of economic development on health and nutritional status, and the evolution of human and primate energy requirements. Additionally, he is interested in human skeletal biology and has been involved in forensic anthropology and bioarchaeology research.  Recent publications have appeared in the American Journal of Human Biology, Annual Review of Anthropology, Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology, and the Journal of Forensic Sciences.  His research has been supported by the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, the L.S.B. Leakey Foundation, Sigma Xi, and the Forensic Science Foundation.  Contact information: (541) 346-4823.
