U of O Arts & Administration Program

ArtsBridge and The University of Oregon Museum of Art

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the website for the 31st annual international conference on Social Theory, Politics and the Arts (STP&A), which will take place at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon from October 6 to 8, 2005.

STP&A is an international and inter-disciplinary gathering of researchers, policy makers and practitioners that highlights current and conceptual issues in the development of cultural policy, theory, and arts administration practices in the U.S. and abroad.   The conference welcomes participation from a broad range of disciplines, including, but not limited to, sociology, political science, management, economics, law, arts education, history and art history, and museum studies, as well as more applied policy and management perspectives.   Proposals for papers will be welcomed in all these areas.

The main theme of the 2005 conference is cultural development, but papers on a wide range of topics, from diverse and international perspectives, are encouraged.

The deadline for paper proposals is March 15, 2005.   Please click here for more details pertaining to the call for papers.

Please check back with this site as additional program and logistics information on the conference becomes available, and please feel free to contact us anytime at stpa@darkwing.uoregon.edu with questions you may have.

Looking forward to welcoming you to Eugene in October 2005,

Patricia
